On Sunday, 18th October, the Australian Budgerigar Society (ABS) is hosting its popular annual event at the Beenleigh Showgrounds (New Show Hall, accessible via Showgrounds Drive off Kent Street).
For anyone passionate about these iconic, colourful little Australian native birds, it is an absolute highlight of the calendar. From stunning exhibition-type budgies to cherished pet varieties and family community award entries, the day showcases the incredible dedication of local breeders and enthusiasts.
Best of all? Entry for the general public is open, and there is a fantastic family-friendly atmosphere. Visitors can expect:
 * Stunning Displays: Hundreds of gorgeous birds benched and judged across open, intermediate, novice, and junior sections.
 * Café ABS: Keeping everyone fueled with a fantastic spread, including classic morning tea treats, hearty lunches, and plenty of hot coffee and cold drinks.
